KicksJust picked up a new pair of Nike skate shoes that I couldn’t afford, but had to have. How cool are they, you ask? Check out the pic and drool. Jealous much?

Well, as you can tell from the lack of posts it has been a hectic, hectic month. What has happened? In chronological order: my birthday, dad visiting, graduation, start the PhD program, moving into a new place, a wedding which included a visit from my old roommate/one of my best friends in the world; Jeff, Christie’s Birthday, another wedding, and finally this past weekend, yet another wedding. It has been fun yet has kept me far too busy. I am sincerely looking forward to a weekend of laying around the house.
The first wedding was for an old friend/co-worker Kristin. She and her husband, along with my old roommate and several other people are now New Yorker’s who used to reside in Greenville. That was reunion/let’s pretend we’re twenty year old undergrads and drink lots of alcohol weekend number one. Lot’s of fun, lot’s of mayhem and me DJ’ing at my first wedding ever. It was definitely something I would only do for friends. Luckily I had the excuse, “Sorry, I am not a proffesional wedding DJ, just friends of the bride and groom, so no, I do not have the electric slide.”
The next weekend was Gil and Ananda’s wedding. It was a very nice and was a reunion of another set of friends from the same time period. It included entertainment by the best band in the world, the Avett Brothers. I have to say that Ananda was the prettiest bride ever, and also had some of the cutest nieces and nephews I’ve ever seen, makes me scared to have children, how can my genes compete with that?
This last weekend was definitely the most fun of the three. It was a reunion of the heavy drinking/partying bunch. Adam and I dj’d this one and had a wonderful time. Pictures are up in the gallery. The circular table pictured was next to our DJ table. The brides mother told us early on to, “Keep an eye on table 10.” Of course, I guess she didn’t realize that we still live in Greenville. For those of you unfamiliar with what that means, it is this: I am not a heavy partier by Greenville standards, but even so, after years of living here when I put my mind to it I can keep up with the best of them and make others look like amateurs. My friend Adam’s band has actually been told by other bands that they tour with that they are no longer allowed to hang out with them. The group at this wedding was some of the more hardcore partiers and easily outlasted the collection of relatives and even the NY hipsters that tried to hang. The police came twice for sound violations, though the neighbors around the house were cool with the wedding, the ones three blocks away didn’t know what was going on.
All in all it has been a lot of fun, and I wish all the brides and grooms nothing but the best. I am now ready to be a homebody for the next couple of weeks. Rent movies, relax…..
